India has imposed anti-dumping duties on five Chinese products to protect domestic manufacturers from the impact of cheap imports. The affected goods include Soft Ferrite Cores, a specific thickness of vacuum-insulated flasks, aluminium foil, Trichloro Isocyanuric Acid, and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Paste Resin, which were being exported to India at prices below normal market rates.<\/p>\n
According to separate notifications issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Department of Revenue, the anti-dumping duties will be in effect for five years on imports of Soft Ferrite Cores, vacuum-insulated flasks, and Trichloro Isocyanuric Acid. Additionally, a provisional duty of up to $873 per tonne has been imposed on aluminium foil for six months.<\/p>\n
For Trichloro Isocyanuric Acid, a water treatment chemical, the government has set duties ranging from $276 to $986 per tonne on imports from China and Japan. Soft Ferrite Cores, widely used in electric vehicles, chargers, and telecom devices, now face an anti-dumping duty of up to 35% of the CIF (cost, insurance, and freight) value.<\/p>\n
Similarly, a $1,732 per tonne duty has been levied on vacuum-insulated flasks. PVC Paste Resin imports from China, Korea RP, Malaysia, Norway, Taiwan, and Thailand will now be subject to anti-dumping duties ranging from $89 to $707 per tonne for the next five years.<\/p>\n
These duties follow recommendations by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), which conducted investigations to assess the impact of low-cost imports on domestic industries. Anti-dumping probes are carried out to determine whether a surge in cheap imports is causing harm to local businesses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
